Perhaps your firewall app has blocked your Cricut, preventing you from connecting it to your laptop. You can’t connect it until you fix the issue.
2. Disabled Bluetooth
Confirm whether your Bluetooth is disabled. If it is, you need to fix and enable it. You can also troubleshoot your Bluetooth before connecting your laptop to the Cricut.
3. Damage Driver
When I encountered my Cricut won’t connect to my laptop, the main reason for this issue was my corrupted USB driver. So, make sure you are not using an outdated driver.
How to Fix Cricut Won’t Connect to Laptop Issue?
By now, you are very familiar with why the Cricut won’t connect problems on a PC. But you might not know how to fix it. Chillax, as I have explained, has 3 fixes to combat this issue. Let’s try them out:
Fix 1: Install USB Drivers (Manually)
If your USB driver is outdated, you can install it manually. Here’s how to install it:
- Hit the Windows logo + X keys on your keyboard.
- A pop-up will appear; select Device Manager.
- Then, look for the Cricut machine in the list and right-click on it.
- After that, you have to select the Update driver.
- Now, select Browser, my computer for drivers.
- Next, you will need to type %APPDATA% in the search bar and select Browse.
- Inside your Explorer window, you have to navigate to Roaming\CricutDesignSpace\Web\Drivers\CricutDrivers.
- When you have selected the folder, hit OK and then Next.
- Finally, you should restart your PC to apply the changes that you’ve made.
Fix 2: Confirm if Windows Firewall Isn’t Blocking Cricut
Sometimes, a Windows firewall may block your Cricut, making it impossible to connect your Cricut machine to your laptop. Here’s how I changed my firewall settings to fix my Cricut won’t connect to my laptop problem:
- To get started, click the search bar located at the taskbar and type Windows Firewall.
- After that, you will need to click on Allow an app through Windows Firewall.
- Now, hit the Change Settings.
- Then, scroll through the options list and tick the Cricut boxes.
- Afterward, select boxes for both Private and Public options.
- Next, select Allow another app if you can’t find the Cricut software listed.
- Go to the installation folder of your Cricut Design app.
- Add the executable file and follow the step 3 of this fix.
- In the last step, tap the OK button.
Fix 3: Turn on Bluetooth or Connect via a USB Cord
Make sure you have turned on your Bluetooth. Otherwise, you can also connect using a USB cord. Follow the steps given below to connect your Cricut to your laptop:
- Place your Cricut machine 3-4 meters away from your PC.
- Then, go to your Settings and choose Devices.
- After that, you need to click on Add Bluetooth or other device.
- Now, select Bluetooth, and then wait for your device to find the Cricut model.
- Next, select your machine, enter the PIN 0000, and click Connect.
