In this section, I will teach you to connect Cricut via Bluetooth or USB cable. In addition, it will be helpful to both Windows and Mac users. Let’s start with a Windows computer first!

For Windows

The following steps are given to Windows users who want to learn how to connect Cricut Maker to Windows using Bluetooth. Follow the steps carefully.

  1. Check if your Maker cutting machine is turned on. If not, turn it on. Also, confirm the distance between your machine and the computer; it should not exceed 15 feet.
  2. After that, you will have to move to the Start menu on the taskbar and hit the Settings option(a Gear-like icon).
  1. On the Settings screen, click on the Devices option.
  1. Here, you have to check whether Bluetooth is enabled or not. If not, enable it by pressing the Toggle button under the Bluetooth.
  2. Then, hit the Add Bluetooth or other device marked in the image below.

  1. Make sure your Maker machine is turned on and placed within 15 feet of Mac.
  2. Then, you have to go to the Apple menu and select System Preferences.

  2. Finally, you have paired your Design Space on Mac. Now, it is ready to be set up with your Cricut.

  1. The first thing you have to do is turn on the Cricut Maker by plugging the power cable into the power supply. 
  2. Then, establish the connection via a USB cable by inserting it into your computer and machine port.
  3. After that, you might need to install the USB driver. Follow the steps on the screen to do so.
  4. You can start setting up your machine after connecting your Cricut and computer with USB.

Question 1: Why is my Cricut Maker not connecting to my computer?

Answer: If you are facing a ‘Cricut Maker won’t connect to Bluetooth’ issue, then you need to try unpairing your machine. Hence, you can re-connect your Cricut Maker by unpairing or repairing the Cricut machine via Bluetooth. However, you need to check the USB port if you want to connect it via a USB cable. You can try another USB port on a device to identify the issue. If changing the port doesn’t work, then try to replace the cable.

Question 2: Which computer is compatible with my Cricut Maker?

Answer: In order to use your Cricut Maker, you will need the Cricut Design Space software. It is currently supported on Windows and Mac computers only. Hence, for Windows users, they must have Windows 8 or later. In addition, your computer must have at least 4 GB of RAM. Coming to the Mac computer, ensure macOS 10.13 or later with a minimum of 4 GB RAM. In short, you will only need a Windows or Mac computer with the basic system requirements (mentioned above).

  1. First, you need to turn on the Cricut Maker and place it within 10 to 15 feet of your Android device.
  2. Then, move to your phone Settings and then go to the Bluetooth option.
  3. Check whether your Bluetooth is turned on or select the Cricut Maker from the list.
  4. Now, you have paired or connected your machine to Android.
